Explosives sellers among 30 arrested
ISLAMABAD: Margallah police Islamabad on Saturday in a search operation in its jurisdiction arrested 30 suspects as well as six other persons for selling explosive crackers illegally, a police spokesman said.

According to details, Margallah police teams headed by Station House Officer Inspector Muhammad Hussain Lasi conducted search operation in the area of G-8/4, slum areas, Maskeen Colony, Hansa Colony and arrested 30 suspects who could not present any document for their identification.

A team under supervision of Inspector Hussain Lasi raided at G-9 Markaz and arrested Najeeb Ullah, Rahat, Imran, Rehmat Ullah, Faqir Zahid and Hanif who were selling explosive crackers illegally.

Police also recovered explosive material worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from them.

Cases have been registered against them under relevant section and further investigation is underway.

SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq has directed heads of all police station to ensure strict vigilance in their respective areas and conduct search operation at the under-constuction buildings, houses, workshops and residential areas too.

The spokesman said that IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements in the city and keep strict monitoring of suspected elements.

He has also directed to enhance checking at entry as well as exit points.
