KARACHI: Culling of the infected Australian sheep, off-loaded at the Karachi Port after being refused by authorities in Bahrain continues for the third day despite delays.
Assistant Commissioner Bin Qasim Town, Ghulam Haider Chandio told Geo News electricity had been suspended by P.K Livestock and Meat Company on Monday due to which the culling of the diseased sheep had to be stopped at 8 pm.
The assistant commissioner added that officials had given an order to complete the culling of the diseased sheep as soon as possible.
On the other hand Deputy Director of the Department of Livestock Sindh Dr Mohammad Hafeez Sheikh said employees of the company P.K Livestock and Meat Company had cut of the power supply in protest of the culling of the sheep.
Secretary Livestock Abid Ali Shah has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile Commissioner Karachi, Roshan Ali Sheikh says only about 1200 sheep have been culled due to these delays.
