ISLAMABAD: Strict security arrangements were observed in Islamabad on Friday and extra deployment of police personnel was also ensured at important buildings and roads.
Inspector General of Islamabad police Bani Amin had earlier directed to beef up security in the federal capital and strict security measures were made at important locations as well as public places.
The IGP himself monitored the overall security arrangements while special police teams remained on patrolling in various areas for the whole day.
Police presence was enhanced at markets and extra contingents of police were deployed there. Police personnel in plain clothes were assigned the task to keep vigil on suspicious elements.
Police Commandoes deputed outside sensitive locations remained alert and special police teams, Falcon and Eagle Squads were assigned the task for effective policing and patrolling in the city.
Complete coordination among all wings of Islamabad police including traffic police, Special Branch, City Police, Security Police, CID and Headquarters Police was also ensured.
Checking at exit and entry points of the city was strengthened and police also blocked few roads for few hours in order to avert any untoward situation. (APP)
