KARACHI: After ghost employees and schools a new ghost has come to town – ghost billboards.
A corruption of billions of rupees has surfaced in the allotment of billboards in Karachi.
In this connection, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched an inquiry against Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Admistrator Karachi, Saqib Soomro.
It must be shocking for all to know that there are billboards in the city without any tax collection record while the regulation of at least 200 metre distance between billboards has been flouted in a most merciless manner.
According to sources, the owners of at least 12 advertisement companies are officials of KMC.
Sources have also added that a billboard site located at I.I. Chundrigar Road has been allotted without holding any auction.
