3 killed, 20 injured in road accident

LAHORE: At least three persons were killed and 20 injured when a passenger bus overturned at Motorway Bypass near Thokar Niaz Baig area of Lahore on Tuesday.

According to the rescue sources, the Raiwind-bound bus was coming from Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with around 25 passengers. Its driver lost control near Thokar Niaz Baig and it overturned at the by-pass bridge. As a result, three passengers died on the spot and 20 others, including the driver, were injured. The Rescue 1122 shifted 11 injured to the Jinnah Hospital and were provided first aid to nine others on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Abid Mohammad, Anayatullah and Naseer-ud-Din, whose bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital.
Five of the injured were said to be in critical condition.(APP)
