KARACHI: Inspector General Police Sindh Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari Sunday asked the police to chalk out a comprehensive contingency plan for ensuring foolproof security in the month of Muharramul Haram.
In a statement, he said there are 260 Imambargahs in Karachi and from the 1st to 10th of Muharramul Haram more than 5000 Majalis are held in the city and more than 750 mourning processions carried out.
He instructed strict security for them, besides enhanced security for sensitive places, sites, routes and personalities.
IGP said that the hate-based wall chalking should be removed and steps taken that such print or audio-visual material is not sold/ distributed in the city. He said meeting should be held the religious scholars belonging to all schools of thought and their cooperation sought in enhancing security in the city. (PPI)
