90pc CNG pumps still shut after weekly closure
KARACHI: Commuters in Pakistan's economic hub are facing severe hardship as ninety percent of the total pumping stations of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) continue to remain closed even after the official weekly closure for a day, Geo News reported Sunday.

Long queues of vehicles stretching out to the roads can be witnessed at the CNG outlets where the cheaper fuel is being made available to the commuters.

The CNG pumps across the provincial capital were supposed to reopen at 9:00 AM today (Sunday) after observing a weekly closure of 24 hours. However, ninety percent of the stations are still shut at 8:00 PM Sunday.

According to the dealers association, the decision in connection with the reopening of the CNG stations will be made by their owners. The future course of action will be finalized by tomorrow (Monday), they added.
