Pillion riding ban on Muharram 9, 10

LAHORE: There will be ban on pillion riding in the city during Muharram 9 and 10, CCPO Lahore Aslam Tarin said on Saturday.

He told the media that holidays of all security personnel had also been cancelled in view of the sensitivity of the month.

Besides, he said, Section 144 will also be imposed.

He said a foolproof security plan has been chalked out according to which around 3,000 police officials would perform their duties in various parts of the city while contingents of Rangers and Army would be on standby to meet any eventuality.

He confirmed that search operations were being carried out in the city while several suspects had also been taken into custody. (APP)
