Top education authority gives institution go-ahead to commence curriculum activities

KARACHI: The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad awarded final accreditation to the HANDS — Institute of Development Studies, an official statement issued on Tuesday read.

The institution has been finally signalled to go ahead with its curriculum activities for which its groundwork lingered for two years towards its logical end.

The said institution with environment-friendly status got its final accreditation in one go from the top education authority that visited the campus in the middle half of the running month, besides permission from other relevant bodies and of course with the stamp of the Government of Sindh.

The Rector of the Institute Professor (Meritorious) Dr Abuzar Wajidi, appreciating the fastest action on the part of the HEC Islamabad, affirms his conviction to make the institute a model one, the statement added.

“Being a degree awarding institute, the HANDS-IDS is now officially allowed to start admission of the students from 31st instant for which everything is ready to launch the admission program.”

“Along with the program the Institute makes it clear that elaborate transport facility has been chalked out for the students from the far-flanged areas,” it concluded.

As per the HANDS website, it is a unique institute in Pakistan providing “Degree in Development Studies” for creating a better world for future generations, pursuing objectives to develop and make available, trained manpower to accelerate sustained economic growth in the current highly competitive global environment.
