A tiger is seen in the video retrieving a plastic bottle from a waterhole in the Tadoba National Park in Maharashtra by wildlife photographer Deep Kathikar.

Plastic left by mankind has strewn the earth, from mountain tops to ocean depths. Even the most isolated and pristine parts of the earth, including forests, are now home to plastic debris. Because of this, wild animals frequently gnaw on abandoned plastic, risking their health.

The video was shot in December 2023, and Kathikar said that the tiger is the cub of tigress Bhanuskhindi from Ramdegi Hills. As the video starts a magnificent young tiger can be seen walking with a plastic bottle, which it picked up from the waterhole, gripped in its mouth.

''Sweet gesture by the Tiger. We will try to keep our jungles clean. Cub of Bhanuskhindi, Ramdegi Hills,'' the video was captioned.

Some internet users described the situation as "alarming," while others were heartbroken and worried after watching the video.

One user said: ''It's beautiful and sad simultaneously. I feel ashamed that a tiger had to clean up after us.'' Another commented, ''Wow, what a powerful video! This compelling video raising awareness about the need for a plastic ban is deserving of submission to various platforms, where it is likely to receive widespread acclaim.''

A third wrote: ''Those is such a poignant footage…. So sad to see the extent of damage we are doing to our planet.''

A fourth added: ''This is hard to see that at what level the destruction is happening let's take responsibility for our planet and our surroundings and keep it clean and green.''
