At least four people sustained gunshot wounds Sunday after an armed suspect opened fire in front of a bar in Harlem, New York City, with authorities starting an investigation into the matter, officials reported.
According to an NBC New York report, the gunman started shooting the three victims as the injured were outside the bar during closing time.
The fourth wounded was also transported to the hospital for injuries that were not yet known.
Officials stated that the injured were all males and their ages were 21, 39, and 46. Officials reported that their condition is non-critical.
Police said that shooting shots occurred around 4am at Just Lorraine's Place 2 on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard.
The shooter remained at large and ran on foot after the shooting and the investigators are searching the neighborhood for evidence.
Separately, authorities in Burnsville, Minnesota reported at least three police officers including a paramedic were fatally shot after receiving reports of domestic abuse.
Governor Tim Walz expressed his grief and extended support to the victims’ families.
According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), the shooter was also dead, without revealing his cause of death.
In a statement released on X — formerly called Twitter — the Governor said that authorities were "responding to a call of a family in danger."
He also stated that other officials were also injured, as well.
"We must never take for granted the bravery and sacrifices our first responders make each and every day," Walz said in a statement on X.
"Today, the families of these public servants received the call they knew was possible but hoped would never come. My heart is with those grieving families – the State of Minnesota stands ready to support in any way we can. This is a tragic loss for our state."
