Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, in a recent Fox News interview, voiced his support for Israel's operations in Gaza, stating, "Yes," to a question about if he was in "Israel's camp", AFP reported.

The interviewer asked about Trump's approval of Israel's offensive in Gaza, to which he replied: "You've got to finish the problem."

These remarks mark Trump's most explicit comments yet on the ongoing conflict, as international pressure mounts on the United States to address the situation.

President Joe Biden has faced criticism from the local as well as international community for supporting Israel amid escalating casualties in Gaza. This adds to Biden's woes as he gears up to face Trump in the November elections.

Over 30,534 people have died in Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip, predominantly women and children, as reported by the health ministry in Gaza. The conflict started with a Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7, resulting in around 1,160 deaths, primarily civilians, according to official Israeli figures.

Amid growing discontent over Biden's backing for Israel, demonstrations in the United States have encouraged voters to voice their discontent in the upcoming presidential elections.

Israel is also experiencing a heightened rebuke from its key ally, the United States, with Vice President Kamala Harris expressing "deep concern about the humanitarian conditions in Gaza" during talks with Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz in Washington.
