Indian X user ignites hilarious nationwide debate to solve mystery of spoon

A photo of a steel spoon, engraved with an intricate design, has sparked an online discussion among netizens which soon turned into a quest to solve the mystery behind this utensil which is found in every Indian household.

An Indian man recently shared a photo of a steel spoon on social media asking his followers if they too own the same spoon, India Today reported.

"Anybody else?? Have this same spoon?" the user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another user replied to his post with a photo of the same spoon. This user vowed to find out why this spoon is common among Indian households, which, according to him, "had to be an interesting story".

The other user wrote: "I am going to figure out why everyone in India has this spoon."

The post quickly caught the attention of social media users, some of whom stated what they knew about the history of the spoon.

One netizen claimed: "Probably it came up with some grocery product. We have 3-4 of them now. Can't recall what, but if I think of a common branded grocery item in the 90s, it could be a tea brand. Will check with my mom tomorrow if she remembers."

"I would read a 1,000 word investigation on this. I can confirm that this is the spoon of choice among British Desis," another user said.

Others also joined in to the fun and shared images of similar spoons that they possessed.
