American businessman and tech mogul Elon Musk spilled beans Sunday on who he will vote for in the coming presidential elections, giving a hint about his political leaning, but warned if there is "no red wave", — a colour that refers to Republicans.

Democrat candidate President Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump are set to face each other this year in November for presidential elections.

Elon Musk — who is also the founder of the Boring Company and xAI — responded to a post on his social media platform X writing about who he voted for in the last presidential polls.

A user on X posted a poll with the caption: "I used to consider myself a Democrat. Now, I feel like the Democratic party is very bad, but I still consider myself Liberal. Anyone else?"

Former CEO of X Musk wrote in a response: "I voted 100% [Democrat] until a few years ago. Now, I think we need a red wave or America is toast.”

The 52-year-old founder of SpaceX has been very critical of Joe Biden administration, and its immigration policy.

In 2021, his car company Tesla was also not included in the list of electric automakers summit at the White House, despite being the largest EV maker.

"Yeah, seems odd that Tesla wasn’t invited," Musk responded then on X.

With his remarks resembling that of Donald Trump about immigration, it is being anticipated that his political sympathies may be toward the Republican party, however, he has not yet endorsed any of the presidential candidates.

Last week, the former CEO of X confirmed his meeting with the former president on March 3 but ruled out pouring money into his campaign.
