PESHAWAR: In a crack down against profiteers, district administration Peshawar Wednesday arrested 20 shopkeepers for over-charging and directed Deputy DOR for carrying price checking.
According to details, District Coordination Officer (D.C.O) Peshawar, Mohammad Javed Marwat has directed the Deputy DOR Ahmad Kamal for carrying price checking and taking action against shopkeepers involved in overcharging.
On these directives, Assistant Coordination Officer (ACO), Habibuallah Arif and DDOR, Ahmad Kamal in separate raids in Charsadda Road, Ring Road, Akbarpura, Dalazak Road, Pajgi Road, Firdous Bazaar and Faqir Kalley arrested 20 persons for overcharging from consumers.
The arrested persons were included butchers, nanbais vegetable sellers, grocery merchants, chicken sellers and hoteliers for running mini cinemas in the garb of tea shops.
