Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has become the only American to boast a net worth of more than $200 billion, Forbes reported Wednesday, entering a unique club. But he's trailing French luxury tycoon Bernard Arnault.

After Amazon stock’s flirtation neared an all-time high, the Amazon executive chairman’s fortune shot up around $2 billion and neared $201 billion, as per Forbes calculation.

This boost helped him take the lead over the second richest American, X and Tesla owner Elon Musk. The Space X founder has a net worth of $191 billion, around $10 billion less than Bezos,

Bezos, who also owns Blue Origin, is worth more than $85 billion than he was a year back. The surge in Amazon’s stock has helped him as it doubled since the start of 2023.

However, he is still $21 billion poorer than the world’s richest man, Arnault, who boasts a fortune of $221 billion.

What’s amazing is that Musk was $76 billion richer than Bezos. However, as the days passed, Tesla and Azmazon’s shares moved in opposite directions, with Bezos becoming more rich.

But the Amazon founder is still behind his own best of more than $210 billion, which he secured in July 2021.
