Meta-owned WhatsApp is rolling out a new update, WABetaInfo reported.

The instant messaging app is rolling out the new update through the Google Play Beta Program — bringing the version up to 2.24.8.8.

The social media platform is developing a feature to announce new desktop apps. It should be available to all users in an update soon.

WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is seemingly committed to making its user’s experience better, especially on linked devices.

The Meta-owned platform is exploring the option of introducing a banner within the linked devices screens. It will appear/announce the availability of new desktop apps and their capability to make group calls.

“This notification is particularly useful for people who frequently use WhatsApp on their desktops, as it informs them about the convenience of having a dedicated desktop app for their operating system,” WABetaInfo said.
