IG directed to beef up security at jails

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Prisons and Mineral Development, Manzoor Wassan has directed the Inspector General of Police Sindh to security beefed up at all jails in the province.

In his directives issued on Sunday, the minister also sought close coordination among administrative staff of all prisons scattered across Sindh.

The Minister Manzoor Wassan said security measures at these jails must be reviewed with extreme care, particularly during the forthcoming holidays.

"All identified lacunae and loopholes should be addressed on urgent basis with optimum care," said the minister

Wassan said his orders must be complied with on priority basis and that he himself would pay surprise to the jails in the province without any prior information.
