Who won in London Marathon?

As thousands of people hit the roads in the capital city of the United Kingdom, the victors of the London Marathon started to emerge Sunday and triumphed over the 26.2-mile race.

In the men’s race, Alexander Mutiso Munyao was the first to finish the line with Kenenisa Bekele falling behind in the second.

Two British athletes, Emile Cairess stood third with a remarkable run while his team-mate Mahamed Mahamed came behind in the fourth position.

In the women’s race, Olympic champion Peres Jepchirchir triumphed in a competitive run, setting a new world record in women’s only race.

One of the best female runners excitedly crossed the tape in two hours, 16 minutes, and 16 seconds.

The 30-year-old Kenyan broke the record set by Mary Keitany in 2017 by 45 seconds.

In the race, the high-spirited racers one the wheelchair also took part with Switzerland's Marcel Hug securing a victory in the men's race for the consecutive fourth year time, crossing the line in one hour 28 minutes, and 35 seconds.

He won for the fifth time followed by the American Daniel Romanchuk who stood second and the Brion David Weir appearing third.

Another Swiss Catherine Debrunner emerged victor in a women’s wheelchair at 1:38:54.

It was the second victory of Debrunner in London and six minutes ahead of her runner-up Manuela Schar who came second.

The UK Boston marathon winner Eden Rainbow was seventh with 1:50:39.

What is the Prize in London Marathon?

The UK’s marathon has turned itself into the first marathon to set prizes for wheelchair runners equal to that of non-disabled races.

The elite winners will be receiving $55,000 (£43,500) with prize money in the US Dollars.
