KARACHI: Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) has unanimously approved Media Protection Policy (MPP), Geo News reported.
PBA sanctioned the said policy in principle during a meeting held here.
According to minutes of the meeting broadcasters said they stand united for the protection of ‘viewers’ right to know’.
“In the past, news channels were persecuted because they did not take political parties and pressure groups’ dictations, but not anymore”, said the PBA stakeholders in the meeting held.
The PBA categorically warned against any unlawful suspension of transmission.
“Those who will try to gag us against the law will bear the brunt of our joint retaliation”, said PBA members.
