Karachi braces for closure as JUI calls strike
KARACHI: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) has announced shutter down strike in Karachi against terrorism, targeted killings and assassination of Ulema, Geo News reported.

Religious and political parties, transporters, traders and private school associations have supported the strike.

JI leader Muhammad Hussain Mehnti has appealed people and traders to make strike, being observed over non-arrest of killers of Ulema, a success.

To make strike successful, Shia Ulema council has also supported it.

Private School Management Association has announced to close all the schools in the metropolis due to strike.

Talking to Geo News, President Electronic and Small Traders Association, Muhammad Rizwan said all the markets would remain close today to show solidarity with religious parties over the killing of Ulema.

Karachi Transport Ittehad has also decided to keep public vehicles off the roads.
