Midwife injured in Lady Reading Hospital fire

PESHAWAR: A midwife sustained minor wounds when a fire broke out at gynecology ward of the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar here on Monday, police said.

The fire, apparently broke out due to gas leakage, engulfed the whole gynecology ward in a jiffy, injuring a midwife Chaman Bibi.

Local volunteers, fire brigades and rescue workers besides staff of Lady Reading Hospital rushed to the spot and evacuated the ward.

Later, after hectic efforts, the Fire Brigade and local volunteers extinguished the fire. (PP)
