QUETTA: Governor Balochistan, Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi has dissolved provincial assembly on the advice of Chief Minister Aslam Raisani, Geo News reported Monday.
A notification in this regard had also been issued.
Aslam Raisani would continue as the chief minister of the province till the caretaker set up is installed.
Earlier in the day, the Balochistan High Court (BHC) cancelled the notification of Maulana Abdul Wasay’s appointment as leader of the opposition in the provincial assembly and restored Tariq Magsi as the opposition leader.
The speaker had notified Senior Provincial Minister Maulana Abdul Wasay as leader of the Opposition in the provincial house after Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani lost the majority.
Yesterday, around 42 MPAs from treasury benches had tendered resignation and the Governor had accepted 22 resignations, whereas another 22 were yet to be approved, however, they were allotted the opposition benches.
