LAHORE: A death row convict who escaped from jail surrendered himself before the Lahore High Court on Friday.
The court handed over the convict to Old Anarkali Police and directed to proceed further as per law.
Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik was hearing an appeal by the murder convict Shahzad ul Hassan. The convict appeared before the court on being summoned and surrendered himself. The court adjourned further hearing till April 17.
According to details, Shahzad ul Hassan was awarded death sentence by a trial court in a double murder case on September 18, 2008.
However, he managed to escape from the Faisalabad jail later. (APP)
