Cambridge University declares Sheikh Waqas A-Level certificate fake

ISLAMABAD: In yet another blow to a new entrant to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Cambridge University has declared the A-Level certificate of Sheikh Waqas Akram fake.

The Higher Education Commission has also declared his IBCC equivalence certificate fake, sources said.

The News published various reports about the former education minister’s educational qualification and revealed Mr Akram possesses fake degree.

He was elected Member National Assembly from Jhang on Pakistan Muslim League-Q ticket, defeating Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamat chief Ahmed Ludhianvi in 2008 election.

While speaking to Geo News, Sheikh Waqas Akram alleged that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) chairman Javed Leghari was hatching a conspiracy against him.
