District Admin holds 95 persons for flouting rules

PESHAWAR: District administration arrested 95 persons including butchers and steak sellers for violation of meat holiday from different parts of the provincial metropolis, said a press release issued here on Thursday.

According to details Deputy Commissioner (D.C) Peshawar Mohammad Javed Marwat have received complaints regarding selling of meat on holiday and its cooking in restaurants.

The DC while expressing severe anguish over the matter also convened an emergency meeting, which beside Assistant Commissioner (A.C) Sikandar Zeeshan was also attended by all additional assistant commissioners of the district.

During the meeting, DC directed all additional assistant commissioners for initiating indiscriminate action against all butchers, restaurants and hotels for violation of the holiday while A.C Sikandar Zeeshan was appointed focal person for the operation.

The administration has registered cases against all arrested persons and a detailed report has also been presented to DC. (APP)
