Robbie Williams has broken his silence on the rumours of him declining King Charles’ offer to perform.

Speaking on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Robbie has confirmed that he was asked to perform at King Charles’ coronation concert.

Admitting the rumours to be true, the singer shared that “there was a reason [I turned it down].”

He went on to say, “I was working. I got something [else] I couldn’t turn down because of money.”

However, Robbie’s former group Take That ended up performing at the coronation concert.

For the unversed, besides Robbie, Adele and Ed Sheeran were also speculated to have turned down offers to perform at King Charles’ coronation.

But, Ed later cleared the air, revealing that he was never invited by anyone to attend the event.

Moreover, some of the other artists rumoured to be offered to perform, include Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, the Spice Girls band, and Sir Elton John.

It is worth mentioning that Robbie has ties with the royal family as he previously performed opening act at the 2012 Diamond Jubilee concert at the Buckingham Palace, which was organised by his ex-bandmate Gary Barlow.
