Departments asked to strengthen emergency plans

QUETTA: Commissioner Quetta division, Usman Gul Monday called upon all aligned departments to strengthen emergency plans in order to respond more effectively to any untoward incident and bid to create law and order in the provincial capital.

Addressing a meeting attended by officials of police, Civil defence, QESCO, Gas and other aligned departments he said in view of prevailing situation, the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by all government departments are needed to be activated.

He deplored that every departments has their emergency plans but they did not make prompt response in case of any untoward situation.

However, he lauded the role of Civil Defence and said in recent past they turned very effective in Quetta." The brave men of the department defused several bombs putting their lives in danger," he stressed.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Quetta, Mir Zubair Mehmood and Additional Commissioner Quetta were also present on the occasion. (APP)
