ISLAMABAD: The political campaign for general elections comes to an end as the clock struck 12 AM on Friday.
According to the Election Commission, any violation of the deadline would warrant disqualification of the concerned candidates. They can be fined upto 100‚000 rupees and the Returning Officers can withhold their results.
Meanwhile‚ ballot papers have been delivered to all Returning Officers for onward distribution among Presiding Officers by today (Friday).
Special security measures were adopted for dispatching ballot papers and their collection.
