Hurriyat leader Asiya slaughters cow to defy ban in Srinagar
SRINAGAR: Hurriyat leader Syeda Asiya Andrabi has slaughtered a cow and released a video in a bid to defy the ban on sale of beef in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.

The video, filmed on filmed on Friday, instantly went viral on social media. It shows the female Kashmir leader holding a knife and supervising the slaughter of a black cow at her residence in Srinagar.

“We are defying the Indian law by slaughtering the cow,” she announces flanked by her hijabi supporters.

The chief of Dukhtaran-e-Millat organisation slaughtered the cow hours after the Occupied Kashimr’s High Court directed to “strictly implement an existing order banning sale of beef in the state.”

The court had outlawed the sale of beef on a petition filed by Advocate Parimoksh Seth who contended that cow slaughter and the sale of beef hurts the religious sentiments of a section of society.
