Measles cases reportedly going down
LAHORE: Measles cases has started to decrease in Punjab as 1,279 cases were reported during last week as compared to 1,119 during the week ended on June 2.

A spokesman of the Health department said that measles vaccine was available in all government hospitals, however, measles affected children were not administered vaccine. He said that rumours about the expiry of measles vaccine were being spread whereas the measles vaccine was not expired anywhere.

It further said that anti-measles campaign would be launched in measles affected 12 sensitive districts from June 13. He said that 12 million children from the age of six months to ten years would be administered measles vaccine during this campaign. He said the Health Department Punjab had made payment of Rs458.3 million for importing vaccine through UNICEF. (APP)
