Karachi:Laborers stage rally for salary payment

KARACHI: Employees of DMCs Saddar and Jamshed Zones took out a rally from Nursery Bridge to Mualana Roomi Bridge against non-payment of their April and May salaries.

The protesters also staged a sit-in on Shahrah-e-Faisal for some time. They chanted slogans against the local government authorities for not paying their outstanding salaries and pensions. The protesting laborers marched through Shahrah-e-Faisal, causing traffic jam.

Municipal Workers Trade unions Alliance leaders Kaneez Fatima and Syed Zulfikar Shah while speaking on the occasion said that said that it is irony that employees are being not paid salaries. They demanded immediate payment of salaries to the workers of Saddar and Jamshed zones.
