Penn Badgley corrects major misinformation about son

Penn Badgley has corrected his 4-year-old son’s widely believed name once and for all.

Badgley welcomed his son with wife Domino Kirke in 2020, and the kid’s name came to be known as James. The name was on the actor’s Wikipedia page and was also used by news publications. However, the You actor has revealed that his son’s name isn’t James.

While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Gossip Girl star said, “This is a very weird thing to say but our littlest who is four… everybody is like, ‘What on earth is he about to say?’” Penn started. “His name is not James.”

“The internet, on Wikipedia, for many years, his name was James,” Penn continued. “And we’d get it removed, it would go back. His name’s not James. And like, you know, I feel weird saying that but I just thought, well, you know what? I have a platform, why not clear the air?”

He shared that he decided to correct the name when people who know their family also started using the name after Googling it.

He said, “There are people who are close to the family who haven’t seen us in a while, they send us a card and it says, ‘To all of us and James.’”

Despite revealing that James isn’t the name of his son, Penn Badgley refrained from revealing his actual name.

Penn declared, “His name, because he’s four, will remain undisclosed for as long as we can. It’s a good name though!”
