LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday took notice of the news published in a section of press regarding the case of a young girl who was murdered after being allegedly raped in Shahdara.
District & Sessions Judge, Lahore has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.
According to details, a burnt dead body of 18-year-old girl was spotted in Fazal Park (Ghulam-da-Bagh) of Begum Kot.
Police reached the spot and took the body into custody.
Police made announcements through several mosques of the area for the identification of the body but to no avail. Cops said the girl was strangled to death after rape then her body was burnt so that she could not be identified.
Police revealed that no signs of resistance were found at the crime scene.
LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report within a week. (APP)
