Princess Anne represented King Charles during a visit to Guernsey, marking the 80th anniversary of Liberation of the Bailiwick.
The Princess Royal attended the event alongside her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence on Friday, May 9, 2025.
However, King Charles acknowledged Princess Anne’s touching tribute as the official Instagram handle of the royal family posted a series of photos from the visit.
The caption stated a quote from the Princess Royal’s speech where she said, “My thoughts and prayers remain with you for the future happiness and the prosperity of your beloved Island.”
“The Princess Royal has delivered a message, on behalf of The King, during a visit to Guernsey to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Bailiwick,” the caption stated.
It further added, “Today, Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, spent time with people from Guernsey who lived through the Occupation, as well as evacuees, veterans, volunteers, and members of the community who organised the celebrations.”
The pictures posted showcased Anne interacting with people and delivering a speech on stage.
