Reports of Mullah Omar's death led to suspension of talks: Aziz
ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister (PM) on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz on Tuesday said that reports of Mullah Omar's death in Karachi led to the suspension of dialogue between the Taliban and Afghanistan government.

According to details, Sartaj Aziz presented a report in connection with the death of Mullah Omar in the Senate.

He stated in the report that there was an allegation that Mullah Omar had breathed his last at a hospital in Karachi.

He said a couple of days ago Mullah Yaqoob, son of Mullah Omar, in a statement endorsed Pakistan's stance that his father had passed away in Afghanistan and was buried there too.

Sartaj hoped that the dialogue process will resume once the issue of Taliban leadership gets resolved.
