James Van Der Beek confirmed that he has been cast in Prime Video's upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle.

On Thursday, the 48-year-old actor announced the exciting news by sharing screenshots of a Deadline article that named his character Dean Wilson.

“So, this is exciting… I’m going back to work for a bit,” wrote James. “Super excited to join this awesome cast in such a fun project.”

“Almost as excited as my wife and girls are that I’m doing this,” he added.

As soon as James shared the news, his fans flooded the comment section of the post and congratulated the star on his comeback.

“So glad you're feeling good enough to go to work. This is so exciting,” wrote someone.

“We want much more of the Beek,” declared another one.

This news comes six months after the Dawson's Creek actor revealed that he has colorectal cancer.

"I have colorectal cancer. I’ve been privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family,” James said to People magazine at the time.
