Kristen Stewart honoured with major recognition at Cannes Film Festival

Kristen Stewart made her directorial debut in The Chronology of Water.

As the film premiered at Cannes Film Festival on Friday, May 17, 2025, the actress received a four-minute standing ovation.

Kristen made a stunning appearance at the red carpet in a chic white short suit and matching baseball cap.

After receiving a huge honour, the actress, famed for playing Harmione Granger in Harry Potter, kissed her wife Dylan Meyer and hugged everyone in her cast and crew.

Kristen Stewart also delivered a heartfelt speech, saying, “This is an absolutely insane, surreal experience to be able to be here and watch this with all of you guys.”

“We finished the movie like five minutes ago, it’s not even finished yet. We just slipped under this fucking shut door and goddamn it thank you,” the Twilight Saga actress said.

Kristen’s The Chronology of Water was first announced in 2018. Notably, the actress also refused to act in any other film until she finished her directorial debut in summer 2024.
