Jennifer Lawrence makes statement on Cannes red carpet

Since giving birth to her second child, Jennifer Lawrence has returned to the red carpet — this time at Cannes.

According to People, her outfit, an eye-catching white gown with striking pleated layers, made a statement at the glitzy event.

She was seen with her co-star Robert Pattinson on the red carpet as their film Die My Love premiered at the film festival.

The upcoming movie starring the Hunger Games star is an adaptation of Ariana Harwicz's novel of the same name.

Recently, Justine Ciarrocchi, a partner of the actress in her production house, Excellent Cadaver, told Screen Daily that Martin Scorsese, the film's producer, presented the lead role to her after reading the book.

“He was adamant no one could pull off Grace like [Lawrence] could," she recalled.

Justine, meanwhile, also praised the forthcoming movie's director , Lynne Ramsay. 

"Her authentic, ambitious, and unabashed sensibility was what the most compelling version of an adaptation required,” she continued.

“We spent about six months emailing, referencing our own personal experiences about women and motherhood," the producer noted.

Apart from Martin, Sean Penn recently raved about Jennifer, calling her "probably the last movie star.”
