Crystal Palace won the FA Cup as their first major trophy in more than 100 years, and Prince William, who was there to witness it, has spoken out about this.

Sharing what the royal prince said, Olivier Glasner — the team's manager— who met him after his team beat Manchester City in a nail-biting match, said in a press conference, “You know he’s an Aston Villa fan.”

His remarks, accompanied by a smile, pointed to Aston Villa's recent loss in the FA Cup semi-final to Crystal Palace.

The Austrian coach also added, “he congratulated all of us for our performances.”

William is well-known for his passion for football. He has attended several high-profile matches, including many Aston Villa games.

The 42-year-old also recently took his son, Prince George, to the Champions League Quarter Final Second Leg match on April 15 in Birmingham, England.

Previously, William explained his strong connection to Aston. He told the BBC in 2015, "A long time ago at school, I got into football, big time. I was looking around for a club to support, and all my friends at school were either Manchester United fans or Chelsea fans," but he said he chose Aston.
