Mia Threapleton, the daughter of Kate Winslet has just sat down to discuss the impact of nepotism, her thoughts, as well as her desires for her career.

She discussed everything in an interview with The Sunday Times, and recalled how her mom reacted to her career ambitions too.

“I remember her being quite caught off-guard, going, ‘Oh, really?” the aspiring star said.

For those unversed, her desires for the performing arts began years prior, when she was just 10, and saw her signing up for online casting boards by 15 too, in order to “try and see what was out there.”

However, she did make it clear that “I wanted to do that on my own.”

Because “I don’t really know how to answer that, to be honest. I mean, you can’t [choose your parents]. You can’t.”

In regards to nepotism and how having a mom from the industry plays into her experinces, Mia said, “[She said], ‘Read the d*** script as many times as you can’.”

But “she was very, very encouraging of me doing it on my own and for myself, having the experiences being mine and mine alone. But she always — I mean, always — emphasized the hard work that goes into it and the effort that needs to go into it,” she added in her concluding note.
