Andrew Garfield eyed for major period film

The Rage is the film Paul Greengrass is making and has eyed Andrew Garfield to lead it.

According to Deadline, the movie is about a peasant revolt in England in 1381.

Earlier, Matthew McConaughey was said to be in talks to helm the period drama.

Further details about the Spider-Man star’s character suggest that his role is possibly based on the iconic rebel Wat Tyler, who was killed in an uprising against King Richard.

In other news, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in the works, and Andrew has expressed interest in joining the cast.

“It would have to be very weird, I would like to do something very strange. Something very unique, and offbeat and surprising,” he told ET.

But his previous remarks about returning to the franchise were more direct.

“For sure, I would 100% come back if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into,” Andrew added.
