The Italian Global Series festival is set to celebrate the global content, as Netflix has shared its Squid Game’s season three’s first episode will screen there.
According to reports, the event will be held from June 21 to 28 in Riccione and Rimini in Italy.
Apart from Squid Game, the streamer also plans to share the first two episodes of Lena Dunham’s romcom Too Much at the festival’s inaugural event.
“The Italian Global Series Festival is dedicated to showcasing both Italian and International series content and is a reimagining of the highly successful RomaFictionFest, which ran for 10 years until 2017,” organizers said.
According to THR, IGSF will include 28 new shows in the competition, which will span three categories: drama, comedy, and limited series.
The festival's director, Marco Spagnoli, said, “Projecting series on the big screen offers a very important cultural and social dimension, appealing not only to fans."
"But for all those who love seriality and the possibilities offered by these stories. Our mission at IGSF is to enhance the Italian industry in the context of European – and Global – collaboration," he concluded.
