Tom Cruise has been filming the Mission Impossible franchise for nearly three decades, starting from 1996 to Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning 2025.
At the New York premiere of his movie, the Hollywood actor candidly discussed his experience of filming the movie.
“This story is a culmination of the last 30 years,” he said, as per Variety. “It’s been about seven years since we started talking about [‘Dead Reckoning – Part One'], and McQ wanted to make two of them. I was like, ‘You want to make two‘?"
In the last franchise, a highly skilled agent Ethan Hunt, who worked for a secret government agency, is on a mission to destroy a harmful sentient AI weapon before it reaches enemies' hands.
Showing gratitude for becoming a part of the project, the 62-year-old actor continued, “During that time we made ‘Top Gun: Maverick' and went through a pandemic and two strikes. All of us came together to will this into being. It’s a great honor and privilege to be here and entertain you."
Referring to his wing walking stunt for the movie, Cruise concluded, “What I want to do is really, really extreme, I had to train [pilots] to fly the airplane with me on the wing. It was so violent on that airplane; the amount of air force that’s coming over the wing…"
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is scheduled to be released in cinemas on May 21, 2025.
