The Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik, are reportedly feeling hopeful about getting released from prison soon.
A new report of In Touch claimed that the brothers' cousin, Anamaria Baralt told the outlet that their family to hoping for 2025 release.
“That would be [the] best-case scenario,” the cousin share adding that they acknowledge they can’t “put a timeline on it.”
Anamaria added that Erik and Lyle “have incredible patience. And at this point, they feel like we all do — that if delays are necessary in order to get justice, then that is OK.”
This report comes at the heels of a recent resentencing making them, who got convicted in 1996 for murders of their parents, eligible for parole and their family, alongside high-profile advocate Kim Kardashian, expressing strong hopes for their future.
AP reported authorities have six months to schedule an inmate’s first parole hearing once they’re eligible.
The report also stated that lead defense attorney Mark Geragos is highly confident, declaring at a press conference following the resentencing, “I’ve said … that 2025 would be their year.”
The aspiring lawyer Kim Kardashian will seemingly be content if the Menendez brothers get releases as OK! Magazine previously reported in November 2024 that she, following in the footsteps of her late father Robert Kardashian, is optimistic about the brothers' future
At the time, an insider revealed, "She’s had deep, intellectual conversations with Erik and Lyle and she genuinely believes in them."
