In 2011, Natalie Portman won an Oscar for her performance in Black Swan.

But over a decade later, she said her experience was “hard” during the award show because she was pregnant then.

Appearing on the Dish from Waitrose podcast, she said, “I couldn’t drink at all during all of those events, which was hard. It’s a lot of stress. It’s a lot of attention. … And I was sober while everyone else was not.”

Also, her pregnancy attracted unwanted remarks from people there, Natalie shared.

“Everyone was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to pop.’ I was like, ‘I’m four months pregnant.’ Everyone was like, ‘You must be giving birth tomorrow. Hope it doesn’t happen on the red carpet,” the actress recalled. “I was like, ‘I’ve got five more months to go.’”

Moreover, after winning her first Academy Award, the Marvel star gave a shout-out to then-fiancé Benjamin Millepied during her acceptance speech.

“My beautiful love, Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed the film and has now given me my most important role of my life,” she said.

The pair tied the knot in 2012 and parted ways in 2023, while divorce was finalized in 2024. The pair shares two kids.
