DUBAI: The Pakistani community in Dubai has achieved a remarkable milestone by creating the world’s largest UAE flag featuring 24,514 human handprints, earning a Guinness World Record.

The event, hosted at the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), brought together individuals from over 100 nationalities — including Indians, Bangladeshis, Filipinos, Arabs, and others — showcasing the UAE's spirit of diversity and unity.

The historic event was held at the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) auditorium on Thursday, May 22.

Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, and Consul General Hussain Muhammad were present as the Guinness World Records representative officially certified the achievement.

Ambassador Tirmizi praised the achievement, calling the handprints as “heart prints” representing unity, love, and dedication. He added, “this initiative reflects the vision of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and underscores the strong bond between the Pakistani community and the UAE.”

The project started by Pakistan Association Dubai, Emirates Love Pakistan and an artist Rubab Zahra — who conceptualised the initiative. This was a month long campaigned, started on April 13 during Pakistan Health Week that was held in the Al Quoz area of Dubai.

Speaking to Geo News, the artist Rubab Zahra expressed her elation at the accomplishment.

"When I envisioned this project, I approached the Pakistan Association Dubai, and together, we worked tirelessly for a month to make it a reality. Today, I am proud to say that dreams can turn into achievements with dedication and courage."

The handprinted flag — an enormous piece of artwork that covered the PAD building — symbolised the collaborative efforts of the UAE’s multicultural society and the strong ties between Pakistan and the UAE.

Mbali Nkosi, the Guinness World Records adjudicator, congratulated the participants and stated that the final result was 24,514. "This was an incredible feat on the part of Pakistan Association Dubai, Emirates Loves Pakistan, and the artist Rubab Zahra. Congratulations. You are officially amazing," she said with a smile.
