Billy Joel has cancelled his upcoming concerts after he got a diagnosis.
On Friday, May 23, Joel took to Instagram to announce that he’s cancelling his shows after he was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).
The condition was exacerbated by his physical exertion as he performed in concerts and led to hearing, vision, and balance, per his statement.
The Piano Man hitmaker shared that he’s been "advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period."
He noted that he’s "thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health. He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage."
"I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding," he said in a statement.
Fan tickets will automatically be refunded.
This comes after Joel suffered a fall during his concert at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut in February. The singer got back up and continued his performance. A month later, he postponed the rest of the tour through June, citing a "medical condition" that required him to "undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors."
"Joel is expected to make a full recovery," his team said in March. "The tour will resume at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, 2025."
