Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have an estranged relationship with King Charles and Prince William.
After stepping down from their royal roles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made shocking claims against the members of the royal family. Ever since, the couple have a rumoured feud with the royal family.
Despite the distance, royal experts claim that William, the Prince of Wales, protected his younger brother, Harry and sister-in-law Meghan from public insult.
Amid public demand for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be removed of their royal title, Jennie Bond told Mirror that William "would not do this" to his brother and sister-in-law.
She said, "Granted, there seems to be a public appetite for stripping them of their titles, but I think it's unlikely that William would choose to do this."
"It would seem, and in fact would be, quite vindictive. There is also the question of whether a monarch can indeed do this. Some titles could be removed on the will of the Sovereign, but the universal view is that to strip someone of their Peerage demands an act of Parliament," Jennie added.
It is worth mentioning that Prince Harry became the Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton and Baron of Kilkee after his marriage to Meghan Markle in 2018.
Jennie noted, "It would be a brave government to venture into that field when there are, in all honesty, so many more pressing issues."
"King Edward VIII remained a Duke for the rest of his life, even though he lived in exile," she added.
Notably, the expert suggested that William might remain estranged to Harry forever, but "he will continue to regard Harry simply as irrelevant to his life and to this country."
"And I don't think he would trouble himself with taking away either of their titles," she added. "For Harry and Meghan, it would, of course, be a very public insult."
Moreover, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have stepped down from their royal roles, their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are sixth and seventh in the line of succession.
It was clarified by the Sussex's team in a statement that read, "The children's titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace."
While Meghan and Harry were told not to use their HRH titles upon stepping down from their royal roles, the Duchess of Sussex recently sparked criticism when she was seen using the title.
Recently, Meghan's podcast Confessions of a Female Founder episode revealed that she had sent her friend a gift basket with a note that read, "With the compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex." This move sparked criticism.
However, Jennie said that while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be "hurt and angry" if they were stripped down from their titles, it would also "reduce their standing" in the eyes of the American public.
Yet, the expert doesn't think Prince William or King Charles would do this.
