Nicole Kidman has sported many a wig in her films and TV shows. This time around, she chose a blonde bob wig for the second season of Nine Perfect Strangers.

"Everything is very specific," Kidman told Variety. "It’s chosen for a reason because she’s got very strong intentions and agendas."

The Big Little Lies actress said she chose the wig spontaneously when her makeup artist, Noriko Watanabe, showed it to her.

"It’s very quick," the Oscar winner explained. "We just came up with the character and vibe, how she should be and what she should look for."

Kidman also shared why she wanted to reprise the character for a second season, which wasn’t based on a book like the first one.

"This time it was free rein," she said, gushing that it was "fun to play" a woman with power. "So many times, I play women that are in a very precarious place emotionally and Masha is just a badass."

Kidman previously opened up about how the second season came to be despite the absence of a novel.

"The first season we were so shocked at how successful it was, so when Hulu came and said 'Please, please will you do a second season?’ I was like, ‘Wow, how would we do that?' And that was how it started," she told The Hollywood Reporter.

"We have one of the best casts in this, and they’re all so good and powerful that it was like OK, balancing all of that and giving everyone their moments and their lanes and differentiating each of the characters."
